Michael O'Leary the CEO of Europe's largest low-cost carrier Ryanair has warned customers that they should brace themselves for higher travel costs well into 2028 thanks to the conflict in the Middle East that has seen Jet A1 prices soar since hostilities started on the 28th February this year. Speaking to Reuters at an Airlines for Europe press conference in Brussels, O’Leary said jet fuel is now costing around 50% more than before the conflict began, and he believes that prices will remain close to current levels for the next 12 to 18 months. 

Ukrainian carrier SkyUp Airlines, who were forced to relocate their operation to the Moldovan capital Chisinau, following the invasion of the Ukraine by the Russian Federation in 2022, has slowly built itself a network of services and now has plans to add further destinations from Chisinau as it's unlikely to be able to return to its Kyiv base for the foreseeable future.  You can learn which destinations are being added to the carriers network in Friday's edition of Air News Daily.
